Position: Deputy Art Director for Videography
Reports to: Art Director
Classification: Unpaid internship
Founded in the philosophical works of the distinguished Prof. Richard Buckminster Fuller, original designer of Tokyo Tower (among many, many other things) the mission of Tokyo Global Engineering Corporation (“TGEC”) is to apply currently accepted scientific principles to the design of projects that cannot be implemented until the emergence of a global state. Headquartered in the North Aoyama Ward of Tokyo, TGEC has employees around the world, and prides itself in its pointedly anti-discriminatory policies, while demanding the same of all its employees. Within the Support Division are the following bureaus: Art, Business Development, Communication, Diversity, Econometrics, Editing, Employment, Finance, General Counsel, Grants, Health, Information,Innovation, Knowledge, Networking, Philanthropy, Procurement, Reputation, Scheduling, Threat Analysis, Translation, and Workforce Education.
The Deputy Art Director for Videography/ Deputy Chief Art Officerfor VideographyDADV/DCAOV) will serve as a member of the Corporation’s managementsupport.
In coordination with the Art Director and other members of the Art Branch, the DADV will play a key role in the Corporation by focusing on how TGEC visually represents its projects. The DADV:
a. Ensures the Corporation’s desired message and ideas are conveyed visually.
b. Works with artists and editors to use film techniques, among other media, to create visualartifacts.
c. Supports the Corporation’s overall visual aspects of advertising and media campaigns and complements the work of other artistic and design staff members, such as the Corporation’s graphic designers.
d. Manages digital assets and deliveries for videos.
e. Collaborates with art and design staff members of advertising agencies, public relations firms, and book, magazine, or newspaper publishers to create videos.
f. Explains videography to inspire other employees.
g. Keeps projects on budget and on time, developing budgets and timelines as needed.
h. No travel is required; however, university students seeking internship placement in Tokyo have some options available to them, pending approval from universities assigning grades.
i. Other duties will arise from time to time and will be assigned to the Employee.
– Undergraduate degree preferred; graduate degree infilm production, cinematography,photography, art, graphic arts, or a related field is strongly desired.
– Leadership experience in non-profit, for-profit, government, or philanthropic sectors, working on art or related issues.
– Demonstrated experience managing a high-performing team in a multi-tiered structure to include professional development and mentorship.
– Comprehensive working knowledge of organizational planning, organizational structure, budgeting, administrative operations, and fundraising.
– Strong relationship builder, with the ability find common ground, build consensuses, and strengthen collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
– Strong global awareness and astuteness.
– Ability to successfully navigate in a quickly paced, outcome-driven, entrepreneurial environment.
– Demonstrated commitment to diversity, inclusiveness, and empowerment.
